Anne: What is driving me?
Owing to circumstances, in the year 1997 I ended up in Eritrea.
Instantaneously the diversity of the population struck me.
The way they live their daily lifes (in spite of sometimes
difficult circumstances) in a most harmonious way, showed me their
unprecedented inward- and outward beauty.
Being a photographer I couldn’t ignore this magnificence; I just had to
capture it.
In the years gone-by it has grown into a tribute to these warm-hearted people
who have generously welcomed me into their everyday life. Any of my profits of this book will be employed for the benefit of the Eritrean people.
